Crossing Lines Series 2020

Ideas, memories, images come to me as cards that belong to an unknown deck of cards. I live like this, where the multiple prevails over the oneness. That state of alert and doze at the same time, it leaves me open to nothing, to a puzzle where all the pieces have the same shape. A feeling of disappointment tackles me, like the impossibility of certainty, of being on the edge of knowledge and the intangible.

This series is based in my early ink works from over twenty years ago, with a renewed perspective on grids and patterns, inspired by the line layouts of my recent color works. I usually draw with vintage dip pens and calligraphy ink and how they provide subtle effects in the lines.
