A Line is a Line 2017 - 2019

All my brushstrokes are always descending. The line is the remnant of the gesture. A path across space and time that is evidenced in the support through the line. I begin by limiting the field of expression to the minimum possible, the fixed measures of the support, which must always be a square of fine thread white linen fabric.

Only one colour and its tonal variations. Only one brush. Colour is an index, it is the certainty of the brushstroke and its verification. It makes the footprint evident.

I make the lines next to each other, so that they overlap and accumulate, to achieve this, I resort to acrylic ink dissolved in a medium that allows me to do all the necessary layers until reaching the desired colour intensity. Acrylic inks dry quickly and this helps me, facilitating the superposition of the lines without losing any precision.
